Beautiful beaches surround the city while the Table Mountain National Park sits behind; the Mother City of South Africa is a forgotten gem when it comes to beach getaways.

Soak in all that the city has to offer with waters that get up to 22°C - if you're lucky enough you may even see an African Penguin or two! Drive or walk up to one of the mountains to check out the City Bowl, a unique natural bowl formed by the mountains with sprawling buildings and skyscrapers.

As with much of South Africa, the barbeque (braai), biltong and curries will have your mouth watering. Wash down the meal with a gorgeous African red wine, or if that's not your speed delectable red bush (rooibos) tea.
